Release day
Here It Snows in June releases today
After years of writing and revising, months of preparing the manuscript and getting ready for the launch, today is finally release day for my book of stories, Here It Snows in June.
I owe an enormous thank you to Wiseblood Books and particularly to Mary Finnegan for all the work she has done to bring this book into being and for championing it so fully. And, of course, to Joshua Hren for his mentorship, for the labor of many years building Wiseblood into what it is, and for the singular figure he is in the world of Catholic and catholic letters.
If you're reading this message, there's a good chance that you've already read or ordered the book, and if that's the case, thank you most sincerely. What a gift and joy it is to be given the chance to share one's work with careful, invested readers. If you know any readers, any book clubs, any outlets that you think might appreciate the book, I humbly ask that you consider sharing it.
The collection has received several positive reviews already:
Lindsay Schlegel writing for Word on Fire.
Carla Galdo writing for Front Porch Republic.
Nadya Williams writing for the Russell Kirk Center.
And Fr. Michael Rennier writing for Dappled Things.
I hope, dear reader, that you will give the collection a try; that if you read it, you will feel moved in some way by these stories; and that if you are moved, you will let me know or share them in some way with others. Once a work is published, connecting with a reader is the best thing a writer can hope or pray for.
(PS. No snow in Minnesota today. But maybe we'll get a quick squall before July hits.)

Really great collection, Eric! "Midwestern gothic" has been my favorite phrase for describing your stories.
Congratulations, Eric! A great day!
